Abstract:
Purpose
This thesis purpose is to present an empirical study on the logistics innovation capability and
its impact on the supply chain risks (company:side risks, customer side risks and environment side risks) using the mitigation approach in pharmaceutical retailing in Karachi, Pakistan
Methodology & Design
The research thesis model is concerned with the relationships between logistics innovation
capabilities and supply chain risk. By empirically analyzing survey date, the partial least
squares technique for structural equation modelling is employed to verify the study model.
Findings
The empirical findings indicate that there are negative relationships between logistics
innovation capabilities and supply chain risks. These relationships might suggest that
organizations can reduce the negative effects ofsupply chain risks by strengthening logistics
innovation capabilities. The findings show that logistics innovation capabilities may be used
to mitigate supply chain risks in pharmaceutical retailing in Karachi, Pakistan
Limitations
This research area is limited to pharmaceutical retailing in Karachi, the conceptual framework
can be enhanced by implementing more related variable and theories that innovate the logistics
and reduce the supply chain risks.
Recommendations
Managers and organizations could design and develop different innovations to enhance the
logistics capabilities and reduce the supply chain risk including company-side risk, customer side risks, and environment side risks.
