dc.description.abstract This dissertation is based on the 2D-seismic reflection data. The data is acquired from the area of LAKI (Sindh), of Pakistan and provided by LMK Resources with the permission of the Directorate General of Petroleum Concession (DGPC). The seismic sections have line numbers P97-A-01, P97-A-02, P97-A-03, P97-A-04, P97-A-05, P97-A-11 and P97-A-23, Out of these seven lines, 5 lines (P97-A-01, P97-A-02, P97-A-03, P97-A-04, and P97-A-05) are dip lines shot in east-west. The remaining two lines (P97-A-11 and P97-A-23) are strike lines shot in the North-south direction that were acquired between November 1997 to December 1997. Root mean square and interval velocities are also computed during processing are also provide with the seismic section at selected CDP’S and are used for the calculation of average velocities to convert the given time into depth. The seismic section is recorded for 5 seconds each. Six reflectors: R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6 are marked due to their prominent reflection on the seismic section. The depth of each reflector is found by using velocity and one-way travel time. Velocity trends along individual lines as well as on a regional scale have been observed. Normal faulting exists in the area and associated Horst and Graben structures are observed along with Flower Structures and step faults. en_US
