dc.description.abstract | The study area lies in the northern part of the Potwar basin, Pakistan. The Indus River and the Jhelum/Soan Rivers pass on its Western and Eastern sides respectively. The KalachittaMargalla Ranges are in the North and the Salt Rage lies in the South. This region is dominated by the number of active surface/subsurface structural features. The well under study is Daiwal-01 which is located in Gujar Khan Area in the Punjab Province. Data for the physiographical location has been extracted from Google Earth and Commercially available data of GSP; sheet No NI 43 SW has been used. The area of the study is complex and highly deformed in its nature and style. For the interpretation of seismic lines 942-GJN-51, 942-GJN-50, 925-GJN-06, 925-GJN-08, 925-GJN-09, 925-GJN-11, only reflector R1 have been marked and named on the basis of generalized stratigraphic sequence present in the area. Initially, a seismic time section is prepared, then it is converted into a depth section to get the true sub-surface picture. Due to the compressional regime, an anticlinal structure is present in the area, which is favorable for the accumulation of hydrocarbon. Time-to-depth conversion of the seismic section is made to view the true picture of the sub-surface structure. Time and depth contour maps are prepared at a particular level to analyze the variations on the basis of time and depth. | en_US |
