dc.description.abstract For the hydrocarbon exploration of the study area the petrophysical study has been carried out in well-X In this study we applied various techniques, i.e. mud logging, wireline logging, etc. In this study the two formations are evaluated, the Lower Ranikot (LRK) Formation and the Pab Formation, which have the reservoir potential. These two formations were focused on evaluation purposes. Five distinct lithological layers were identified through the petrophysical analysis. Such as Ranikot (a), Ranikot (a1), Ranikot (b), Ranikot (c) and Pab Formaiton. The Ranikot (a) is rich in shell fragments. The Ranikot (a1) is the lime marker, which is used for geological correlation. Ranikot (a1) can be distinguished from Ranikot (a) by its low gamma ray, low porosity, and high resistivity. The Ranikot (b) zone is designated to the first sands below the Ranikot (a). The Ranikot (c) zone applied to the section, where gamma ray increased significantly compared to the Ranikot (b). The Pab Formation layer is applied to all of the Pab Formation. The reservoir quality of the Pab Formation was much better as compared to the Lower Ranikot Formation in terms of clean sands, porosity, and water saturation. en_US
