Abstract:
The main objective of this dissertation is to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of jalwal-01 through petrophysical interpretation. Jalwal-01 is located in district Attock, bounded by latitudes 33' 30' 48" N and longitude 72' 2'37" E. The study area is a part of the Potwar plateau where the topography is undulating and characterized by a series of parallel ridges and valleys. Geologically, it forms part of the foreland zone of the NW Himalayan fold and thrust belt. The overall evaluation of the well logs concluded that the main reservoir rock is the Kohat Formation. Due to low hydrocarbon saturation through petrophysical analysis and interpretation results led to conclude that always-01 well has no hydrocarbon potential.
