dc.description.abstract The agricultural sector of any country represents its economic growth. In the current era efficient, effective and fast detection of fruits grading and sorting is a concern which affects its market and also alters the companies selling the fruits worldwide across the globe. Fruits are being classified differently based upon size, color, texture, etc. The defects in the fruits affect the market value of the product. Fruit grading by a human may cause inefficient amount of time and it also leads to some error. To overcome all these problems, the developed automatic fruit grading inspection system which helps in making the process highly fast, improves accuracy efficiency and reduce time. Introducing sorting process in an image of a fruit is detected and analyzed in category d using image processing techniques and the defected fruit is removed in the process and fruit is graded. The main focus of thesis is to automate a system where a fruit maturity is detected and the detected fruits are counted by the system using Image Processing. Automated grading and sorting system will detect the apples in real-time with an application interface where we can count and supervise the apple count as well as the categorization in which they are graded and sorted. The accuracy at which the automated apple grading and sorting system works is 95%. Apples are sorted in three graded boxes and the flappers are used to sort the apples in specific categorize on the hardware. Application interface will provide the real-time supervision of Apple count in the process of automated system created. Moreover, the utilization of image processing techniques in fruit maturity detection and counting contributes to the advancement of technology in the agricultural sector. The research in this thesis is directed towards providing valuable insights into development and effectiveness of automated systems, paving the way for future enhancements and widespread adoption of similar technologies in fruit grading and sorting practices. en_US
