dc.description.abstract This thesis investigates the educational disparities faced by students from public school systems in Pakistan when compared to their peers from private schooling systems at the university level. The study focuses on four key indicators, namely communication skills, confidence levels, analytic abilities, and performance in assessments, to explore the challenges and differences experienced by public school students in an environment where they study together with their private school counterparts. The educational landscape in Pakistan is marked by a significant divide between public and private schools, resulting in unequal access to quality education and subsequent disparities among students. This research seeks to contribute to the existing body of knowledge by shedding light on the specific challenges faced by public school students as they transition from secondary education to higher education. Through a comprehensive review of literature, interviews, and surveys, this study aims to identify the varying levels of communication skills, confidence, analytic abilities, and academic performance between public and private school students in a university setting. By analysing the factors contributing to these differences, such as teaching methodologies, curriculum variations, and socio-economic backgrounds, the thesis aims to provide a holistic understanding of the educational disparities that exist and their consequences. The findings of this research will serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, educators, and stakeholders in Pakistan's education sector. The insights gained from this study can inform the development of targeted interventions and policies aimed at reducing the educational disparities and fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students, regardless of their school background. By understanding the challenges faced by public school students and the differences in key indicators compared to their private school peers, this thesis contributes to the ongoing discourse on educational inequality and lays the foundation for future research in this area. Ultimately, the aim is to create a more equitable education system that empowers students from all backgrounds and ensures their success in higher education and beyond. en_US
