Private Van Management System

Abstract

Every university has some private van service providers affiliated with the university which gives pick-up and drop-off services to the university students. The owner or the driver doesn’t know about the pickup and drop off timings of the students because every day each student has different schedule of classes. Some have make-up classes and some have their classes got cancelled. Some want to go late and some want to go early. So there can’t be some fixed schedule that could be given to the drivers to follow. So the owner or the driver has to call the students to know about their pick up and drop off timings each day. They have to write these timings on the paper and then plan according to them. Furthermore, the owner or drivers have to collect the fee from students by hand. Some students pay their van fee on time and some don’t. They have to keep records of fee collection manually. Apart from this, the owner of the van service doesn’t know the location of vehicles. Private Van Management System (PVMS) is a project that is related to the private vans giving pick-and-drop services to the university students. This project is actually going to replace the old traditional system of pick and drop service where the drivers or the owner of the van service has to manage every single thing manually. The proposed system will implement a functionality by which every student will be able to set up his daily pick up and drop off timings. The owner of the van service will have the administrator privileges to the system and he will be able to manage each things with the help of the PVMS i.e. allocating vans to the students according to their pickup and drop-off timings, notifying them about the fee payment deadlines and blocking services to the students who haven’t paid their fee before deadline, making any announcement to the students etc. The system will give an option to the admin to keep the record of the fee payments made by the students. Furthermore, the system will provide a feature of online fee payment by which the students will be able to pay their fee through the credit card and also it will provide a feature by which the owner will be able to pay the drivers their salary through his credit card. The system will provide another facility by which the students will be able to chat with the driver in case they have any queries. There will be a complaint registration feature as well by which a student will be able to register any complaint. PVMS will also help the owner to track his vehicles.
