Smart Metrobus App

Abstract

The Smart Metrobus App is a cross-platform application for Android and iOS devices. It’s a revolutionary solution to the current manual ticketing system. Firstly, the app allows users to purchase tickets online, eliminating the need to wait in long queues at busy stations. This saves time for passengers and reduces the workload of Metrobus staff, enabling them to focus on providing better customer service. Additionally, the app features a Notification System that informs users about station availability, helping them make informed travel decisions. This is particularly useful for passengers in a hurry or those needing to make connections. The app also includes a feedback option, allowing passengers to share their experiences and provide suggestions for improvement. Furthermore, it offers real-time bus tracking on maps, enabling users to track buses' exact locations and obtain information about their estimated arrival time at their current location and destination. Passengers can also opt for monthly or yearly Ticket deals instead of booking tickets on a daily basis. This app not only benefits passengers but also provides valuable insights for Metrobus staff. The app maintains data of user details, booking information, station details, and ticket sales, enabling optimization of the service, improved efficiency, and an enhanced customer experience. SMA is developed using react native which is used for developing cross-platform applications. For the database, I have used Firebase which stores real-time data
