dc.description.abstract As the global energy crisis continues, researchers are exploring solutions for sustainable and efficient energy production. One study focused on a helical vertical axis wind turbine that utilized renewable energy and optimized efficiency. The study consisted of two steps: first, an analytical calculation was performed to determine the power output of the helical wind turbine. Based on these calculations, a gearbox was designed and constructed. The rotor blades and generator were also designed after studying several different models. Helix blades were selected, along with a permanent magnet synchronous generator. The vertical axis wind turbine was planned to be located on the green belt of the Srinagar Highway, where traffic flows in both directions. The micro winds from passing vehicles would act as the input for the blades, producing electricity. The goal of the project was to provide an alternative source of electricity for residential properties and areas with limited economic resources. The simple design using basic materials aimed to provide an accessible and viable option for electricity production. Gearboxes are a critical component in wind turbines and can cause complications. Maintenance and replacement costs, as well as the cost of production losses due to non-functioning gearboxes, are significant expenses for wind power plants. The study involved extensive testing of the planetary gearbox to create a final model with optimal efficiency and stability in electricity output. en_US
