dc.description.abstract The usage of new standards, such as WIMAX (IEEE 802.16e-2005) for providing fast Internet connection with transmission of large data files, and UMTS/WCDMA in telephony family, is spreading everywhere. Thereby examination of the possibility to realize at least two standards over one common element base, which will be handled and rebuilt by SDR, are become actual. The main objective of our project is to design and implement blocks of a Transceiver which would be capable of reconfiguring between different wireless standards. Our transceiver would be supporting two standards: WIMAX and UMTS (WCDMA). The transceiver is optimized to support these two standards that include different modules in their channels. So SDR Environment Implementation to support WIMAX and WCDMA will be our desired objective. WCDMA and WiMAX have several advantages and there deployment worth a lot. Now in order to deploy both standards, separate terminals and User-Equipment will be required .From user’s point of view upgrading a handset is mandatory in this case. Wireless operators faced problem during the shifting of network from one generation to another. So an effective solution is to devise a reconfigurable terminal which allows co-existence of both standards; i.e.: allows interoperability of two standards. Now end users can integrate third party software on their handsets.. en_US
