dc.description.abstract The world today we live in is facing problems of global warming and energy crisis due to the increase in the number of emission emitting automobiles, new industrial estates, etc. Solar energy has become the most famous among renewables, so different techniques are used for harnessing its maximum energy. Similarly, the use of uninterruptible power supply [UPS] is also increasing due to the rise of the energy crisis and the existing UPS takes grid supply for charging batteries resulting in high consumer electricity bills. The energy crisis has become a concern for undeveloped and developing countries that is most likely not going to go away with the increase in population in these regions. The need for power rises by 5 percent yearly in developing nations, especially Pakistan. So to overcome this problem people use UPS for load shedding which costs users extra bills as the battery is charged by WAPDA. Plus, batteries are not getting fully charged due to frequent load shedding. In addition, when these UPS devices perform alternating current (AC) to direct current conversion (DC), 50 percent of the energy is lost during the charging process of battery. We suggested that turning these locally produced UPS into a PV-fed UPS inverter would be the most effective solution to this issue in terms of increasing their efciency. In simple words, we can say that we will convert the existing UPS to a solar UPS/Inverter. en_US
