Abstract:
The study was conducted to assess the impact of urbanization on stream water in Abbottabad KPK. The samples were collected randomly from stream water of Harnoe to
check the physical, chemical and biological parameters. The physical parameters includes
(Temperature, TDS, Salts, Turbidity, PH and EC) were tested. The chemical parameter includes (Hardness, Alkalinity, Chlorides) other Biological parameter were determined such, as (NA, EMB, SS). Then results were compared with WHO standards of drinking
water quality the important reason of drinking water contamination is human activities
from near urbanization. Water samples were collected sterile bottles carefully for biological test and for physical and chemical test by using sample plastic bottles. The results of physical parameters were found within the permissible limit except few like TDS and Salts. The results of chemical parameters were under permissible limits but in microbiological analysis few samples showed higher number of microbial growth like SS. Most of the samples from all parameters have been found under permissible limits of WHO. Whether if any contamination of drinking water can cause diseases, we concluded that urbanization has intense effect on the stream water quality of Abbottabad KPK.
