The purpose of this research study was to investigate the relationship and gender difference between bullying victimization, social isolation and suicidal ideation in adolescents belonging to the age group of 10 – 19 years. 250 adolescents participated in this study amongst which were 52 % males and 48 % females (Age mean 15.78 and SD 1.97). Three instruments were used to measure the study variables i.e., Personal Experience Checklist – Short Form (PECK-SF), UCLA Loneliness Scale Version 3 (UCLA), Suicidal Ideation Attribution Scale (SIDAS). The relationship between the Bullying Victimization, Social Isolation and Suicidal Ideation are found to be significant. Furthermore, the findings also determined that Bullying Victimization and Social Isolation significantly predicted suicidal ideation. Independent sample T-Test revealed non- significant gender differences among study variables. The research consistently yielded a strong link between Bullying Victimization, Social Isolation, and Suicidal Ideation. Bullying leads to Social Isolation, which elevates the likelihood of suicidal thoughts. This study highlighted the importance of addressing Bullying Victimization, Social Isolation, and Suicidal Ideation among adolescents, emphasizing awareness, interventions, and community support. This can include community organizations, counseling services, peer support groups and educational campaigns that aim to raise awareness, offer guidance, and create a safe and inclusive environment for adolescents. |
