Abstract:
People counting includes the detection of human objects ( People) and counting of said objects. It is with-in the digital image processing branch of computer science. It takes video from CCTV cameras in public places and counts the people in the video feed and the tracks them across the eld of view of the camera. The system counts the people in the videos which can be used for security purpose or for crowd estimation. This system uses object detection to detect objects in video and di erentiates human and non-human objects and then counts the people. It also tracks the moving objects. This is achieved using digital image processing . Pets data set is used to evaluate the system.
