dc.description.abstract This research delves into the origins and consequences of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which has not only impacted Eastern Europe but also has significant implications for the security of Central Asian region. The study focuses on the historical and contemporary relationships between Russia and Central Asia, which have been shaped by the legacy of Soviet-era ties and Moscow's continued influence in the region. Moreover, it attempts to investigate the key aspects of regional security, including military, political, economic, societal factors, and evaluates the responses of Central Asian governments to the ongoing conflict. Using the lens of Regional Security Complex Theory, the research assesses the potential for violent spillover effects across the region and identifies opportunities for regional cooperation to promote stability in the face of evolving security challenges. It also further highlights the vulnerabilities of Central Asia due to its reliance on Russia for economic and security purposes, and underscore the need for nuanced and context-specific policymaking to address these challenges. The study concludes by offering recommendations for policymakers and scholars to promote greater regional cooperation and collaboration to mitigate the security risks stemming from the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. en_US
