Abstract:
The study aims to determine the effect of soft skills training of employees on organisational
productivity in software houses of Karachi. The reviewed literature shows that soft skills
“sets of habits, qualities, attitudes, social mannerisms, and personality traits” that
are
every
person possesses to some extent and that is required both in everyday life and at work.
Lorenz (2006) states that interpersonal skills as the qualities, which make a person a
compatible colleague and good employee. This study utilised a quantitative design and this is
appropriate for research as it encompasses the desirable characteristics; for instance, a large
size of sample; management’s short term; flexibility in collection of data; various costs and
goals. A method of convenience sampling is utilised to reach 75 employees, of which 51
employees ofsoftware companies in Karachi responded. The research instrument that is used
for this research is a questionnaire. The data is then analysed using inferential and descriptive
statistics. It has been revealed through findings that this research established a positive and
significant relationship with performance of organisation. The mean values ofthe data range
from 1.66-1.95 which means most ofthe respondents have given responses in agreement side.
The p-value of the t-test of OP is 0.00 that is less than 0.05 and it means the value is
significant and the positive standardised and unstandardised coefficients are positive. This
shows that the null hypothesis (Lh) is rejected, implying that there is significant and positive
relationship between employees’ training and organisational performance.
