The objective of this study is to determine the hydrocarbon potential of Nara-
01 well using wireline logs. Nara-01 well is located in Miano gas field block 2. Miano
Gas field is located in the Thar Desert, in the Sukkur region. Log data used in this study
includes the Gamma-ray log, Gamma ray Neutron tool, Resistivity log, Caliper log,
and SP log. The borehole profile of the zones of interest was good. Lower Goru acting
as a reservoir. There were four zones had been marked. One zone in B sand, two zones
in C sand, and one in D sand. The present study showed that the volume of clean was
about 67.13% in D sand, 59.57% in C sand, 70.27% in C sand, and 69.41% in B
interval. The total porosity in D sand was 12%, 14.68% in C sand, 11.71% in C sand,
and 9.09% in B sand while effective porosity was 4.20% in D sand, 5.36% in C sand,
4.06% in C sand, and 6.03% in B sand. Saturation of water was 59.64% in D sand,
59.55% and 52.85% in C sand, and 73.85% in B sand which showed that the zone of
interest is a hydrocarbon-bearing zone as compared to water. Petrophysical analysis
showed that prospect zone has clean lithology and good effective porosity. Therefore,
petrophysical analysis reveal that in Nara-01 well, Lower Guru Formation is the best
zone regarding hydrocarbon potential. |
