| dc.description.abstract | The studies consist of engineering properties of Margalla Hill Limestone, located in Ratta Shah area, Taxila. The study evaluates the geotechnical character of the Margalla Hill Limestone and its suitability in road practices. By collecting samples, geotechnical tests were performed in laboratory of Construction Technology and Training Institute (CTTI). Engineering properties of Margalla Hill Limestone were characterized on the basis of laboratory test results derived from Gradation test, Los Angeles test, Specific Gravity test, Soundness test, Crushing test and Impact value test. Laboratory test results were compared with pre-defined standards such as American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), American Association of State Highways and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), British Standards (BS), National Highway Authority (NHA) and American Concrete Institute (ACI). Comparison between geotechnical test results and standards showed that Margalla Hill Limestone aggregates are suitable for road construction activities. | en_US |
