dc.description.abstract The main objective of the research is to carry out the lithostructural mapping and construction of a geological cross-section to understand structural deformation. To achieve this objective, geological mapping of the study area was carried out and major geological and lithological information was gathered in terms of dip, strike, folds and faults. All this information was plotted on 1:10,000 scale base map along the traverse and the contacts and faults extended along the strike. This map was digitized by using ARC MAP 10.5 software. A geological cross-section was prepared using the kink method to understand the subsurface structure and geology. The geological map shows the formation present in the study area ranges from Paleocene to Miocene ages with a major unconformity and two faults. The geological cross-section reveals the presence of an overturned anticline fold between two imbricated thrusts of MBT forming a trailing imbricate fan. en_US
