Abstract:
The main objective of this study is to evaluate the hydrocarbon potential of Qadirpur-
40. It is located in District Ghotki, Sindh Province. Tectonically, Qadirpur Block is a
dome structure with negative flower structure mainly formed due to the trans-tensional
regime. Qadirpur is positioned on Mari-Kandhkot Highs. Four prospect zones had been
identified in Qadirpur-40. Average volume of shale of these zones are 18.9%, 18.6%,
12.4% and 14%. Effective porosities of these zones are 14%, 8.8%, 13.4 % and 10.3%.
Resistivity of water is 0.03 ohm/m. Average hydrocarbon saturation of these zones are
65.2, 45.8, 58.7% and 52.6%.
