dc.description.abstract | Iris recognition is a non-inversive technique to identify humans. Personal identification is used in various objectives for individual identification like border control, school, military, communication, eCommerce, etc. Biometric systems get advantages from physical or behavioral features(2). In biometrics, behavioral biometric properties such as beat writing and signature, and physical biometric properties like a fingerprint, face, the geometry of hand, speech, and iris. The most vigorous verification is iris verification. Iris verification is the accurate verification from all biometric identification(2)(3). The strength of iris recognition comes to it due to its unique feature of human eye texture that is not changed with the age factor. Even the environment cannot be able to change the shape of iris. The twin’s eye textures are also different from one another. Iris is the colored part of the human globe. Iris controls pupil size according to the situation and adjusts for visibility or control of light(4). Iris recognition is a very promising area of research. Recently the Postmortem iris recognition gained the attention of the research community. But the postmortem iris recognition is still challenging to recognize. The post-mortem and antemortem biometric subjects also become different slightly. At that time, very little research has been conducted on post-mortem iris recognition. This pilot study aims to explore iris recognition as a tool for postmortem iris recognition. The object of this study is to determine whether the post-mortem iris recognition technique identifies the iris as the same as collected in earlier intervals. The dataset of iris is collected after the death of a person. The iris data comes from almost 79 different cadavers. The data is divided into different time sessions. The data arrived from the Medical University of Warsaw collected from the body come to the hospital mortuary. The iris data is collected using different sensors (IriShield M2120U) and (Olympus TG-3).
