Abstract:
The objective ofthis project is to develop a vocabulary Builder application that helps
you to learn English Vocabulary in effective way. Vocabulary plays a vital part in
learning to read. Since vocabulary is one of the pillars of language learning and
are familiar with the especially significant for the advanced learner. So, once you
basic structures of your target language, you'll want to start saying and understanding
words. This is an off-line application, so you can learn English Vocabulary
without Internet connection. This application has tested on English vocabularies like
important words, synonyms, antonyms, sentences and pronunciation. This
application mainly focuses on two categories of vocabulary words first is newspaper
and the other is GRE (Graduate Record Examinations). The main motive behind our
proposed project is to provide accurate and detailed content as well as correct
pronunciation. Also, we focus on how to improve human memory by psychological
approved methodologies to make learning the fastest and in easiest way.
Vocab Builder learning is based on the principle of ‘spaced repetition’. This is the
theory that our memory is made up of two parts: Short term memory and long-term
memory. By default, initially, all information goes into short term memory, which
only hold it for a limited amount oftime or for a few days. But if it is reviewed
often enough, then it will enter in long-term memory, where it will stay for life,
provided occasionally reviewed. In Miller’s article 1965 about storage capacity limits,
“The magical number seven plus or minus two...,” is one of the best-known articles
in psychology. He says that short term memory could hold 7 (plus or minus 2 items)
because it only had a certain number of “slots” in which items could be stored. So
according to this approved research our user will have only 5 vocabs on daily basis.
