dc.description.abstract The basic objective of this study is to understand the surface and sub-surface geology and structural configuration of Karuli and adjoining areas in district Chakwal, Punjab province, Pakistan. The study was carried out by conducting lithostructural mapping of the study area by using 1:10000 scale toposheet and satellite imagery. Multiple field visit were made in order to mark traverse along the dip. Later on the contacts and faults were extended to complete the geological map. The map was digitized by using ArcGIS and a geological cross section was prepared. The study area hosts compressional structural regime includes both brittle and ductile style of deformation controlled by north dipping Salt Range Thrust. The hanging wall is deformed into anticlinal and synclinal sequence with over all fault bend fold style. en_US
