For the exploration of hydrocarbons, petrophysical analysis has been done in
Rajian-01 well and Daiwal-01 well in Upper Indus Basin Pakistan. In Rajian-01 and
Daiwal-01 drilling has been done from Chnji Formation up to Salt Range Formation.
Logging suits including caliper log, spontaneous potential log, spectral gamma ray log,
computed gamma ray log, dual laterolog, microspherically focused log, neutron log,
density log and sonic log have been run. Total six zones have been marked in both wells
and zones are present in Chorgali formation, Sakesar limestone and Khewra sandstone,
based on calculated petrophysical parameters i.e. low GR log values, high LLd values
and neutron-density crossover, the marked zones in Daiwal-01 have low volume shale,
low effective porosity and low hydrocarbon saturation that is why it is showing low
hydrocarbon potential but in Rajian-01 the zone has low value of shale, high value of
effective porosity as compared to Daiwal-01 zones and it also has high saturation of
hydrocarbon i.e. 60.0%. Overall the Rajian area has more hydrocarbon potential as
compared to Daiwal. |
