Abstract:
This dissertation supports the interpretation of 2D seismic data and the
petrophysical analysis of seismic lines in Resham-01 well in the Lower Indus Basin,
Pakistan. sResham-01 is located in Tehsil Sinjhoro, District Sanghar. The data sets
provided by OGDCL include GR data sets, resistivity, SP and Sonic data sets. Three
reflectors are marked, which represent the Parh formation, Basal sand of Lower Goru
formation, and Massive sand of Lower Goru formation. Reflectors were identified with the
help of T-D chart. The reflectors marked were all of early to late cretaceous. After that
converting the time into depth with the help of average velocity. in the area, horst and
graben structures were observed from time and depth surfaces of all the three marked
formations. Fault seal analysis was also performed using one of the faults (F3) using the
methodology of Allan mapping technique, juxtaposition diagram, Shale Smear Factor
(SSF), and Shale Gouge Ratio (SGR). The results of the fault seal analysis showed that
there can be fair sealing along this F3 fault. Afterwards petrophysical analysis was
performed for determination of average porosity, effective porosity, saturation of
hydrocarbons and saturation of water. On the basis of petrophysical analysis of the area,
there is no potential hydrocarbon reservoir in this area.
