Abstract:
The goal is to understand the geology, tectonics and hydrocarbons reserves of
Badin area with the help of seismic lines and well data of NUR-01 well. For seismic
interpretation five lines including four dip and one strike line was provided. After
generating the base map of area two reflectors were found to be the horizons of interest
these include Parh and Lower Goru Formation. Normal regional faults, horst, graben
structures along with tilted fault blocks were observed as Badin lies in the area formed
by extensional tectonics. The faults were marked and time depth contour maps of Lower
Goru and Parh Formations were prepared. Petrophysical analysis of subsurface was
done with well NUR-01. On the basis of different logs two zones of interest were
marked in Lower Goru Formation. Various Parameters like Vsh, Vsand, Sw and Sh
were calculated to find the properties of reservoir. The thickness of first zone was 35m
having 51% saturation of hydrocarbon whereas zone two was 46m having 58%
hydrocarbon saturation.
