dc.description.abstract This dissertation supports the interpretation of two dimensional seismic data and the petrophysical analysis of seismic and logs of Kallar Syedan area is in the Upper Indus Basin, Pakistan. Geographical location of the study area lies between 33° 43' N to 22 N and 73°7' E to 30 E. Seismic interpretation was done on 5 seismic lines and two horizons were marked that were of Nagri Formation and Chinji Formation due to poor quality of data in deeper part of seismic profiles. Reflectors were identified by using well top data. After that converting the time into depth with the help of average velocity. Afterwards petrophysical analysis was performed for determination of porosities, water saturation and hydrocarbon saturation, etc. The well was not reached to the target zone due to technical reasons and terminated in Kuldana Formation penetrating few meters. Therefore, Murree Formation was considered as target formation for petrophysical evaluation. Interpretation outcomes indicates pop up anticlinal structure with the adjacent synclines in subsurface. The petrophysical zone of interest marked in the Murree Formation. Three zones were marked. The saturation of hydrocarbon is 13.82%, 10.89%. and 16.59% for zone 1,2 and 3 respectively. en_US
