Abstract:
This research is proposed to give a clear understanding of subsurface structures of
Sanghar Area that lies in Lower Indus Basin, Pakistan. Study area is present in the lower
Indus Basin. Main emphasize is on interpretation methodology adopted in order to illustrate
the horizons and faults. Beside this time and depth contour maps were also generated along
with petrophysical analysis of the well data. With the help of petrophysical computations
and results it turns out that in terms of shale volume, zone 2 has shale volume greater than
both zone 1 and zone 3 In Lower Goru Formation. Volume of clean is greater in zone 1
which is 90 % as compared to 85% of zone 1 and 87% of zone 3. In terms of effective
porosity, zone 2 bears greater effective porosity 34 % as compared to zone 1 and zone 3
which is 29% and 33 percent respectively. The zones interpreted by the petrophysical study
indicates that the Lower Goru Formation have good hydrocarbon potential within the study
area.
