Abstract:
Structural analysis has been done using the 2D seismic data of Thatta area,
Southern Indus Basin Pakistan. Bahria University and Directorate General of
Petroleum Concession (DGPC) provided 2D seismic reflection data of well Beghari-
01 that was required for conducting this research. The study area lies in the Thar
platform near lower Indus Trough, Southern Indus Basin, which is bounded by
Tharparkar High on the east, Kirthar Fold Belt on west and Jacobabad high in the
north. Present study area is Beghari 01 field which is situated at a distance of 62 kms
from Thatta and 82 kms from Badin. The field was established in 1993 by OGDCL.
For structural enhancement, four seismic migrated lines i.e. 902-TH-04, 902-TH-01A,
902-TH-3 and 902-TH-13 were used. Time and Depth contour maps of the three
horizons, Ranikot Formation, Parh Limestone and Lower Goru Formation were
generated that identifies normal faulting in the area. The tectonic regime is
extensional, and the prominent structures of the area are horst graben and half graben.
