| dc.description.abstract | The current study aims to use seismic and well data to better understand the underlying geology and hydrocarbon potential of the Badin region. Five seismic lines were interpreted. Lower Goru Formation and Parh Formation were the horizons of interest. Since the locality is in the extensional regime, normal faults are present, forming horst and graben structures as well as tilted fault block geometries. The deposition pattern of reflectors is northeast to southwest, producing a nice sequence of rocks. Petrophysical study was carried out on the Nur-01 well logs. Based on multiple log patterns, a hydrocarbon-bearing zone was found in the Lower Goru Formation. To examine the reservoir's characteristics, several Petrophysical parameters such as shale and sand volume, porosities, and hydrocarbon saturation were computed. The thickness of our zone of interest is around 100 meters. Water saturation in our region of interest is 76.67 percent, whereas hydrocarbon saturation is 23.92 percent. | en_US |
