Abstract:
Car accidents are one of the main supporters of the social and financial expenses for the
general public. Mishap can be characterized as "an unforeseen and negative occasion,
an incident startling and with no conspicuous reason. Study was conducted to identify
the hotspot areas, consequence and causes of road accidents in Rawalpindi area using
the data of 9648 accidents data of year 2017 collected from Recue 1122. Rawalpindi is
a district located in the northernmost part of the Punjab province of Pakistan. Parts of
the district form part of the Islamabad Rawalpindi metropolitan area. Rawalpindi city is
the district capital. Results shows that majority of the people affected by the accidents
are in the age of 15-30.Their injuries are minor numbers of people that are affected due
to head injury were 1000 but maximum people affected were having minor injuries
they were 6800 and more males are affected that is 8200 and the females that were
affected are 1500. There were seven different types of causes of accidents that were
carelessness it is having 2800 people affected, one wheeling did not affected anyone,
tyre burst affected 100 people, U-Turn affected 200 people, wrong turn affected 50
people. while over speed affected 6400 people it means that people affected by the over
speed were the most among all causes their percentage is 64%.Different conditions and
status of patients is Alive and stable patients were 5600 in number and they were
maximum while alive and unstable were 2200 in number and 1800 were dead.
Maximum number of patients was alive and stable. According to the data collected
maximum accidents took place in DHA. Identification of the hotspot areas for road
