The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of supply chain activities including
procurement, distribution and logistics on the environmental performance of transport
companies of Karachi. :
Methodology & Design
A quantitative research methodology was used and a total of 309 respondents from the
transport sector participated within the study.
Findings
It was found that very strongly the supply chain activities have a significant impact upon the
environmental performance of transport companies in Karachi with respect to their
practicality.
Limitations
The study was unable to include surveys of the transport companies in order to better
evaluate the practices of supply chain being related to environmental performance. Which
could be revoked in future studies.
Recommendations
The sector must indulge the non-negotiable role oftechnology in the operational activities so
as to better decline the hazardous impacts of its operations within the surrounding.
