Abstract:
Purpose
The present study investigates the impact of constructs of interpersonal deviance and
organizational deviance linked with favoritism, knowledge hiding and work stress.
Methodology and design
The data has been collected from the employees of different sectors within Pakistan. A five-point
Likert scale questionnaire has been used as the data collection technique. The regression analysis
Conducted in this research as the conceptual framework includes multiple independent variables
and a single dependent variable. Moreover, the study included recent literature, i.e., from the Years
2018-2021.
Findings
The study found a significant negative relationship between favoritism and workplace deviance,
Also there is a positive relationship between knowledge hiding and workplace deviance and also
significant positive relation has been found between work stress and workplace deviance.
Limitations
Due to a lack oftime, the study was limited to collecting responses of 327 from SMEs, rendering
generalizability hard. Because of scarce financial resources quantitative approach was used,
although fair results can be achieved through qualitative approach, the study was limited to
collecting responses from Pakistan-based
Recommendations
To minimize workplace deviant behaviors organizations need to adopt an excellent organizational
culture. This culture must focus on important core values to be followed inside an organization in
order to create unity among the employees. The core values that are specifically shared by the
organization include both organizational values and norms.
