Abstract:
Purpose
The purpose and aim ofthis study is to expand the understanding ofthe factors that influence
the supply chain performance, particularly in the setting ofPakistan’s industry.
Methodology & Design
Explanatory research methodology has been used. The target population ofthe current study
is the SC professionals and executives of pharmaceutical firms of Karachi, Pakistan.
Purposive sampling had been used in this research as it helped the researcher in gathering
highly related and useful data.
Findings
The current study has concluded that IT enablers, Information sharing, Cross-functional
application, SC application and IT competency have a positive effect on SC performance.
Limitations
This research has several restrictions. First, the SC industry is included in the study sample.
The sample's industrial makeup could be a sign of performance disparity between industries.
Second, various elements can affect the quality ofthe information, like security, culture, etc.
The conceptual framework of the study does not include any personal, political, or
socioeconomic elements.
Recommendations
Sensor technology from the Internet ofThings (IoT) may provide a ton of help in the form of
predicted key indicators. This system is scalable, needs little infrastructure, and is easily
deployed. Finding partners, suppliers, and vendors across markets improves a company's
capacity to endure local and international supply chain disruption. Labor activities should be
automated in this complicated, constantly shifting SC environment. Machine learning, data, and advanced analytics should be used to drive these changes in order to boost
efficiency and to improve SC performance.
