Abstract:
The increase in population requires the increase in the production of crops. When the demand increases low quality fertilizers are used and less care is taken to the quality. Unfortunately the focus is the increase in quality only. Farmers need investments to produce the quality crops but there is only one bank in Pakistan that provide investment to the farmer and that bank alone cannot fulfill the needs of all the farmers and this is not enough for them they require investments because if they will invest on the crops only then they will grow healthier. Other than that there are a lot of people who want to invest in the organic field but due to a lot of difficulties, hard work, and because they don’t have enough time, they did not prefer it and become demotivated. A mobile application platform called CropFit connects smallholder farmers looking for capital for their farm operations with investors. Such money will enable the farmer to work at full capacity, so raising the degree of global food security. Farmers will be displayed based on the items they cultivate. CropFit will be able to provide interested investors with concrete data that will inform their decision to invest in a chosen smallholder farmer. This app is developed to provide investments to the farmers who need them and for the investors who are seeking for the good farmers. The contract will be generated by the application once the order has been made successfully. Therefore, the project is aimed at solving such problems by designing an Android/IOS app that will provide an online way to connect potential investors with smallholder farmers who are seeking funding for their farm operation, reduce the time taken to find a farmer, accessibility of number of farmers at a single platform, this may lead to improve the economy. The designed system is implemented using different technologies including Flutter for front end and Firebase for the back end. The developed application can serve farmers who are seeking funding for their farm operation and the investor who want to invest in the field of organic. The application allows them to negotiate and generate order once the order has been places successfully. This will result in immense saving of time and efforts to find a good farmer and a potential investor.
