A painting robot is made to automate the process of art painting on canvas. Catering to the art enthusiastic community, this solution brings a novelty in the creation of art through the use of hardware and software technologies that is able to target large audience groups as a commercial/industrial product. The hardware deployed is based on the basic structures of robotics but has been re-engineered and customized to work with this solution. Customized electronic circuitry has been engineered to provide stable functioning for long hours of operation. Provision of multiple user interfaces with a back-end coded in image processing modules, combined with real-time functions for operation with actuators, the robot is able to paint a wide range of different paintings using different colors and techniques. Involving input formats as pictures, photographs, illustrations and from AI generated images generated from keywords, this robot is able to work with these input formats to paint on many different sizes of canvas, paper and cards etc. This robot is capable enough to outperform human artists under a certain degrees of skill, the measurement of such metric is highly subjective but a few standards have been given to measure the speed, cost, efficiency and feasibility of the robot versus a human artist. The objective to be achieved here is the automation of these painting techniques through analysis of the existing techniques, and customizing them to work with robotic actuators while keeping the paintings as close to that of human artists using different paint types |
