dc.description.abstract In a world where everyone is on a separate journey and needs to be somewhere, cab hailing industry is at its boom. Daily increasing prices in petrol, diesel after the pandemic and increasing inflammation it has become very difficult for salaried person, student or other people to meet their ends and to afford a car of their own has become a dream. But positively on the other side cab-hailing industry has given a chance to such people to enjoy the facilitation and benefits of a private transport or vehicle without actually owning one. In this final year project, I aim to build an application that will offer cab hailing services to customers. Although this industry is at its boom but their are some loopholes in this industry that need to be covered. The customers and drivers are cut-off from their fare share because of third-party involvement. This application is built using blockchain technology that cut off the need for a central authority. It favors both customers and drivers in terms of money, privacy, and security. It is an alternate cab-hailing model by constructing a decentralized cab consortium where the car owners and the renters can directly interact and share the car based on certain predefined agreements. The concept of smart contracts on top of a blockchain platform to realize such a system that provides a secured, tampered-proof, fair, and transparent interface for car sharing. I have implemented the proposed platform over an Ethereum-based environment and show that its runtime cost and performance are within a considerable margin. Cab hailing service is a business model where one can hail a cab for a while to reach a certain destination. This model is gaining popularity in urban areas because it can own a car (virtually) just by paying a small amount as the fare. It is cost-effective and beneficial for the passenger as well as driver. en_US
