Abstract:
In past years Software defined networking gained so much popularity that big
organizations started shifting from the traditional approach to SDN. SDN has a lot of
capabilities that were absent in traditional networks. Apart from all the qualities, SDN
got some loopholes one of which grabbed our attention this research. This research is
related to the issues regarding traffic inside the software defined network. SDN network
is divided into three layers and the whole network is interconnected through these
layers. Our research is focused on the problem regarding flow rules these rules are the
principles provided by the administrator in order to proceed with the traffic of the
network the problem is related to the absence of the flow rules which is discussed in
this research. Rule forming is sometimes critical in software defined networks, so we
are focused on finding a way for the controller to form rules automatically without the
help of the application layer. This research provides a solution which is briefly
discussed in this research to form flow rules automatically. The solution provided in
this research works as an agent in the system to solve the problem of the rule absence
and static rule formation. Rule absence can cause latency and delay at the data layer
which as a result effect the performance of the software defined network. In comparison
to previous researches, this model works better to increase the performance of the
network. The results gained from the deployment of the model show that it can help in
the field in order to deal with the issues regarding flow rules so this model will overall
help in increasing the performance of the software defined network.
