dc.description.abstract In today's world family comes in wide range of shapes and sizes. A basic family comprises of two parents with 2 or 3 children is no longer unique. One may be raising his or her child on their own. Being a single parent can be challenging but It can also be rewarding. It clearly depends on the parent that how well he or she deals with the situation. Being a single parent is not a choice but there could be circumstances that puts someone in this situation. A person can be a single parent due to divorce or death of the partner. Single parents face different sort of difficulties as they perform both gender roles for example a single mother is fulfilling the responsibility of the father as well as the mother. Life of a single mother can be quite stressful as she has to deal with different types of responsibilities alone with the absence of her partner. Single mothers may feel overwhelmed by the responsibilities they have on their shoulders like taking good care of their children, maintaining a job, and keeping up with the bills and household chores. Typically, the family's finances and resources are extremely reduced due to parent's separation. The problems that single parent families deal with are quite different from normal families may face (Leisa Bailey, MD. 2021). A two-parent household is more beneficial for both the parents and children in terms of time, money, love and attention. Both parents can easily share their responsibilities and give their children enough time and attention. It is easy for them to meet the needs of their children, as they both are putting efforts for better living standard and peaceful life. en_US
