Abstract:
In order to enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the overall system for levitation
of elastomers using electric field, the use of automation and hardware are the factors that
are trending nowadays. Doping, silicon on insulator, tool steel toughening, surface
finishing, ion beam mixing and ion implantation induced nano-particle formation are the
various applications of ion implantation. A simulation of new type of contactless
levitation of a non-metallic object is presented here. The novel feature of this manipulator
is that a non-metallic object can be directly levitated by electrostatic forces. Detailed
study on basic principles is also presented. This is followed by the current analysis that
has been done on the plate and electrostatics analysis on the object that has been
levitated. A voltage has been given to the plate and the charges have been produced on
the plate by anode-cathode method. Similarly, the electrostatic analysis has been done on
the glove and by this analysis opposite charge has been produced on the glove to levitate
it. Simulation results focusing on ionization techniques and processes of levitation has
been demonstrated for the complete contactless levitation of a 100g glove. Finally
optimal configuration of material with the optimized design of the base plate has been
presented.
