Abstract:
Purpose: The purpose of the study was to understand how Family-Work Conflict and Work Family Conflict impacted the Work Life Balance of Employees working
industry of Karachi, Pakistan. Our moderating variable was Manager Construal Effect and
Organizational Control Mechanism was our mediating variable.
Methodology & Design: Questionnaires were sent to various employees working at different
companies electronically.

Findings: Work-Family Conflict was seen to significantly impact the Work-Life Balance of
employees. Family-Work Conflict was seen on have an insignificant effect on Work-Life
Balance. Our chosen moderator also had an insignificant impact on the relationship between
our independent variables and our dependent variable and the same can be said for our
mediator.

Limitations: The study has been conducted at a small scale in 30 companies, most of which
are situated within the territory of Karachi. The generalizability of the study is therefore
limited. Further inter-city research is needed. Moreover, the study is based on the subjective
views ofthe respondents about the firms they work in.

Recommendations: Since we had a limited time frame to work with, detailed research could
not be carried out. Moreover, resource constraint also had be considered. Also, perspective of
other parties involved should also be considered so that a 360 view can be cultivated. It is
therefore suggested that future studies should focus on development ofmeasures which
the variables with even more objectivity
