Inventory Management System

Abstract

The project is development of a web based “inventory management system”. The purpose of project is to automate the inventory which is so far managed using manual system. Currently Bahria University is using manual system to manage inventory. Due to the manual system, either there is no record or it is outdated. At times,the manual record becomes a reason for many problems and confusions. The software is developed after analyzing and gathering requirements from the concerned department. The software has many useful features.Every student and employee has his/her own profile from which, user can request for an item from anywhere and view progress of the requests. In the software, administrators canissue/receive item, claim warranty of the items, send warning email and rate item and comment about a vendor. There is also an option of adding/modifying/deleting new items, employees, students, and vendors. There are problems everywhere around us but the real problem arises when an issue is not resolved after being recognized. Use of manual inventory system was also a problem that existed since long and needed to be resolved. Although, the project is not a complete inventory system yet but it will be improved in the future for even better results. iv | P a g e Inventory Management
