| dc.description.abstract | Purpose: The purpose of this research is to identify the essential supplier selection factors w.r.t importance or priority given during supplier selection and skill possession required by procurement officials in order to achieve the supply chain purchase performance. Methodology & Design: The study involved use of questionnaires filled by 227 respondents. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The data is collected from primary source that is questionnaire. Findings: The findings from this study determined that supplier selection most important factors include quality, delivery, price, warranties, capacity and suppliers performance history as the most essential and significant factor result in purchase performance. Many of the new entrants’ factors like lead time, professionalism, consistency in services, leliability, also found considerable and process and product development, research and integrity influential in supplier selection decision. were officials having adequate technical and interpersonal skills also Furthermore, procurement optimize purchase performance. constraints like time, resources and secrecy of data Limitations: This study has faced some which can be avoided in future studies.
