Abstract:
Purpose
Supply chain management plays the crucial role in development and smooth performance of
any industry. The purpose ofthis research is to analyze different dimensions of analytics and
their role in making supply chain performance better for the firms in the automobile industry
of Pakistan.
Methodology & Design
Research has been conducted by gathering information and views of 200 employees working
in automobile sector of Pakistan, through primary data collection method, online survey
forms will be used to reach appropriate audience. Moreover, the data analysis method will be
quantitative in nature. Hence, it will analyze the responses attained by the survey will be
analyzed through numerical means, like through factual interpretation and critical analysis of
the figures which include regression and correlation analysis.
Findings
After all the research and analysis of data findings it can be concluded that the study
indicated that effective supply chain management has a significant impact on the overall
performance of the organization and by improving supply chain management will result in
improvement of organizational performance.
Limitations
Every research has some limitations associated with it. Similarly in this research paper the
automobile industry of Pakistan is huge in size, which is why just 200 employees from it are
not sufficient to represent the whole sector and additionally time horizon was another factor
for limited span ofresearch.
Recommendations
After conducting this research it can be said that there are several factors which influence the
performance of automobile industry of Pakistan. On basis of this research it can be
recommended that organizations in Pakistan need to incorporate advanced tools and
techniques for data analytics to gain a competitive advantage. Moreover, different techniques
such as forecast bias or MAPE should be utilized for measuring forecast accuracy.
Furthermore, Demand management tools, big data analysis or procurement data analytics
dashboard must be used to improve overall supply chain functions including procurement for
efficient and effective decision making.
