dc.description.abstract | One of the producing fields of the Lower Indus basin Kadanwari field in Kadanwari-Latif block. Major objectives of this research were to characterize reservoir potential. We have given 3D seismic data cube along with three wells i.e. Kadanwari-01, Kadanwari-03 and Kadanwari-10. The study area lies in extensional regime. Lower Goru is proven reservoir in the area as it contains thin interbedded sandstones in shales that act as reservoirs. This study utilizes the advanced seismic methods like seismic inversion along with the support of seismic interpretation and petrophysical analysis of KadanwariLatif area, Pakistan. This has been achieved by sub surface mapping using seismic data and its integration with well data. The methodology adopted to achieve this objective includes structural interpretation of 3D seismic data, fault geometry mapping, time and depth contouring of B-Sand. Total three horizons are marked i.e. Upper Goru Formation, Sembar Formation and B-Sand. Extension and sliding causes normal faults that divide the area into horst and graben and which also play an important role in compartmentalization of a reservoir. Petrophysical analysis showed one reservoir zone of significant thickness and hydrocarbon saturation in each Kadanwari well. Model based inversion method has provided clear understanding regarding porosity and lithological content in B Sand reservoir which is suitable approach for further development. This analysis gives the porosity values which are much close to the porosity calculated from the petrophysical analysis. Reservoir characterization techniques like seismic inversion and petrophysical analysis have confirmed B Sand a proven reservoir of Kadanwari -Latif area. | en_US |
