dc.description.abstract This study was conducted to determine the water quality of Bahria Town Rawalpindi filtration plants installed in different locations and sources (filtration plants and tube wells). The total 50 samples were collected to analyze the physic-chemical heavy metal concentration by using standard operating procedures. The results shows that all the results were compared with WHO guidelines; In this study, pH analyzed was ranged between 7-7.5 ph. All the samples have shown the pH concentration within the defined limits of WHO. The permissible limit for EC is 400µs/cm. In this study it was analyzed that samples from both targeted areas are under permissible limits by WHO. Permissible limit of TDS for drinking water according to WHO is 500 mg/l. In this study, it was analyzed that on a few locations points the value of TDS slightly exceeds. In case of Chloride, Permissible limits for alkalinity according to WHO standards are 250 mg/l. The chlorides result for samples were within the defined limits of WHO. No sample was exceeding the defined limits. Zn and pb were also analyzed, Zn were within permissible limits but Lead (Pb) concentration in ground water samples of tube wells were not found under permissible limit in all the locations except few locations which were below the standard limits. Cadmium (cd) and Nickel (Ni) were also analyzed and found within in permissible limit of WHO guidelines. Samples from both tube wells samples and filtration plant samples were violating the (Fe) Iron standard limit provided by WHO for drinking water except some of locations are following the provided limit by WHO. en_US
