dc.description.abstract | In this study, High amplitude seismic analysis utilized for petroleum play of Offshore Indus Basin Pakistan, located in the south of the Karachi trough and Thar slope, between Murray Ridge and the Indian border. The primary purpose of this research is to describe the petroleum play of the study area using seismic interpretation and bright spot seismic and also identification of leakage related anomalies. Seismic interpretation converts seismic data into a geological picture. Structural interpretation maps the faulting in the area and seismic horizon interpretation demarcates the subsurface extent of the reservoir. Time and depths contours map also aids in interpretation. High amplitude anomalies marked as Direct Hydrocarbon Indicators in two seismic lines i.e., TEPPOO-117 and TEPPOO-118. The two bright spots validate through two seismic amplitude attributes (Envalop trace and average energy attribute). Leakage related anomalies were also discussed on the basis of structure and bright spots. The bright spots that act as a direct hydrocarbon indicator and leakage anomalies give the indication of a petroleum system in the research area. | en_US |
