Abstract:
Our project E-Enterprise and Business Intelligence System is composed of two main subsystems i.e., E-Enterprise System and Business Intelligence System (BIS). E-Enterprise consists of further two systems Fixed Asset ManagementS ystem (F AM) and Order Transaction Processing System (ODTPS). Theses ystems replace the legacy online transaction processing (OLTP) systems running at AITL, by providing distributed multitier, Internet ready OLTP capabilities. Fixed Asset Management System provides them anagement of fixed assets, which the company owns, and Order Transaction Processing System provides the management of company sales. The client's interaction with these systems is browser based. Business Intelligence System has two data marts one for Fixed Assets and other for Sales information. It also contains Extraction Transformation and Loading routines (ETL) and BI reporting client. ) The two data marts are designed for analysis and reporting purpose, by storing historical data, consolidated from F AM and ODTPS (OLTP) data sources respectively. ETL routines are used for the Extraction of data from OLTP data sources, transforming it for data marts and then loading in the data warehouse. These routines leverage Oracle 9i ETL features for performance and scalability. The BI reporting client equipped with state of the art graphs and reports provides an insight of the company's assets and sales to the executives. In addition to this the whole software development 1 ifecycle is controlled by Rational Unified Process (RUP), with special emphasis on software documentation.
