Video capturing & encoding media player have the capability of running on multi- platforms. The motivation behind this project comes torm the lack of platform indep~ndent solution for multimedia computing e.g Play back media files, Transcod:ng media (Conversion from one media format to other, capturing etc). Proprietary hardware and platform specific video formats require multimedia type applicatior. to be tailored and rewritten for each computing ~.latform. ' IV
